Disconnected my battery from my 1998 c230 Mercedes and now my locks do not work and my trunk won't open

Asked by Savana_1828 Feb 01, 2017 at 12:19 PM about the 1998 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I  recently disconnected the battery of my 1998 c230 and
now I come across the problem of my locks not working
at all and my trunk won't open. When I press the unlock or
lock buttons on my remote control the lights in the car
flash like if nothing's wrong but the locks won't go up or
down. I can unlock the car manually to get in but once I
try to press the button for the locks right above the radio,
nothing happens even if the car is on. The car turns on
and drives like nothing, the only problem is that none of
the locks work after I disconnected the battery. Now the
problem with my trunk is that the button on the remote
control doesn't open it and neither does the key when I try
to do it manually.

All of these problems happened after I disconnected the
battery.

Yes these things will happen when your battery dies or is changed, sometimes the functions will not work because of lose of memory you will need to have the car re-flashed at the sealership..
