stolen vehicle recovered- what is it's worth?

Asked by lisalips Jan 06, 2011 at 04:31 PM about the 1998 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Sedan

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

my 1998 c-230 was stolen on Christmas eve and totaled in a collision on x-mas day.  The vehicle only had 52,000 miles on it.  I purchased it new. I was the only driver.  It went in for all services.  IT came with both driver and passenger automatic seats, sunroof, cruise control, gas fueled, original paint, leather interior.  I know the going rate for this vehicle with many more miles is approx 6,000. Being that mine had 1/3 of the miles what should the settlement be from my insurance company.  I am fully insured with an additional umbrella policy comp collision and liab.  thank you for your time

According to Kelly Blue Book it is worth somewhere around $5,300 (Trade-in), $6,475 (Private Party), or $7,850 (Suggested Retail).

If it still tracks straight, and you can take your hands off the wheel and it doesn't swim to one side when you brake, the rest is cosmetic, which can be fixed by detailers. keep it, and enjoy it. drive safely.
