Is 1998 Mercedes Benz safe to drive with ABS light on?

Asked by Guru31H7F Jul 09, 2020 at 05:40 PM about the 1998 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed wheel sensor of my 1998 Mercedes Benz C230 but ABS light is still
on? Is it safe to drive C230 model with ABS light on? I know the risk of skidding
is there if I press Brake Pedal suddenly. Besides that is there any other risk?
Thanks

ABD light on means the ABS system won't work when you are in a panic stop , so pump the brakes like you would if you didn't have ABS. You replace the sensor, maybe it wasn't the right one or there is a wiring issue. Have a shop scan for the ABS codes.

Thank You @TDolby for your feedback. I shall scan for the ABS Codes as you have suggested.
