What would cause my Camry to do this

Asked by dcruiz62 Jan 02, 2016 at 02:04 PM about the 2003 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband pulled out onto a main street & accelerated, then right away,
the car started jerking as though it was running out of gas and the Check
Engine light started flashing on & off. We keep all maintenance current &
up to date. We also have had over $5,000 in repairs & replacement parts
done in the last 18 month's including a new water pump, catalytic
converter, both engine fans replaced,  all 4 motor mounts,  brand new
starter,etc...so I would appreciate any information as to what could be
causing this to happen.

First thing I would do is have the code(s) read. With all of the work done to the vehicle that you have mentioned, there is a possibility of a sensor out of adjustment causing the problem.
