My 2003 Camry cranks but won't turn over. How do I find out whats wrong and how do i fix it?

Oh lord, there are so many possibilities. Normally I would say take it to get an OBD scan, it can be done without engine running. Let's begin with, can you beg borrow buy rent steal (just kidding on that) an OBD scanner... and do you the the 2.4 I4 or 3.0 V6?
Ok. It has 4 ignition coils so makes it difficult to check spark, but it has a timing chain, we are good there (not a belt). How many miles...did you had smoke from tail-pipe before this happened , if so what color? You can try some starting fluid, spray in to intake right through filter, (you need a helper really) and don't use TOO much, crank and if it runs for 3 to 10 seconds it's not an ignition problem ..BUT I'm still not 100% clear, it cranks, but won't turn over" That means it tries, cranks over but just won't start or not even turn over as in dead battery?
No, not dead battery. It cranks over but just won't start
Okay, fundamentals ---fuel or spark. My suggestion is try the starting fluid and then we are 50% of the way to diagnose

Hi, I have aa 1986 Toyota Camry my problem is it won't turn over, it keeps cranking and then nothing, If I push the gas peddle a couple to 3 times it smells of gas. I checked the plugs for firing and they do fire. But still wont start, at all. What could be the problem?
