How do you adjust the linkage mine won’t go into
park

Don't know if it's the same but we had same problem with an 02 Silverado. the shifter cable went bad and had to be replaced . There was a spring around the cable where it connects to trans, inside that spring there is a plastic tube to stiffen the cable .Tube broke and cable couldn't force arm forward to engage Park.

I’m able to move the linkage into park with my hand but when I move the floor shifter into park the linkage doesn’t go farther than reverse
