I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer LS, today the service engine light came on, what does that mean? I checked the oil, added a quart but the light is still coming on. Why? Will it pass smog?

TAKE IT TO ANY PEPBOYS,AUTOZONE,CHECKERS AND HAVE THE CODES SCANED FOR FREE THEN LET US KNOW WHAT CAME UP...COULD BE SOMETHING AS EASY AS A GAS CAP..

Thank you so much! A friend came over and he checked all the fluids, added what was needed, but the engine light still came on. He said also it could be a sensor that is a easy fix. He would take me to Autozone . I will check on the gas cap too. I noticed it does get loose, and I had a tune up 9 months ago, but I haven't driven my Blazer over 3,000.00. I also had a oil change. Will post when I know what is up with my Blazer!

Yes take it and have it scanned the engine light can come on for 30 to 40 different things so you definitely need it scan to get a code and start from there
