How do I fix drivers seat belt that is stuck and won't pull out of the retractor

Asked by John Apr 17, 2015 at 11:36 PM about the 2005 Dodge RAM 2500 ST Quad Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I took my drivers side front seat belt loose after parking my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500
quad cab , the belt retracted ok, later when I got back in truck, started it up and reached
for the seat belt, it was stuck and would not let me pull it out, can I fix this myself? I am
65 years old and not a great mechanic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just fixed this problem on our 1998 Ram. The belt won’t pull out, neither is there enough belt to push more into the retractor. I used a skewer to push in and rotate the retractor, and the belt became loose to pull out. Good luck.
