Truck will not move in any gear

Asked by GuruRBMP8 Feb 14, 2020 at 07:21 PM about the 2005 Dodge RAM 2500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 04.5 dodge Cummins would not shift into
overdrive. I pulled over killed and tried again. Still
nothing. The next day I started driving and when it
hit about 40mph it revved up like it went into
neutral. So I stopped when I started going again at
about 20to30 miles an hour the truck started
shifting down and shifting up. back-and-forth to
about 40 miles an hour. So I stopped to turn around
and take the truck home. When I pull back on the
road the truck wouldn’t go over 10 miles an hour
then revving back up like it was in neutral. I stopped
turn the truck off in the middle of the road crank it
back up and limped  the truck back home. But the
whole way home it was about 10mph and if I press
the gas to much it would act as if it was In neutral.
Now the truck won’t move.  No gears work at all. I
can put my foot to the floor in any gear and it won’t
move.
