When apply the brakes on my 2004 Ram 5.9 Cummins it feels like i am going over a washboard

Sounds like the front rotors are warped. Probably needs a front brake job done on it with new rotors, and of course you would want to check the back brakes also.

what if you let go of the steering wheel while pressing the brakes, does the wheel shake? If the rotors got overheated by applying the brakes too long or a stuck caliper there are probably warped. Probably will need to be replaced, I doubt they can be turned true again on a lathe
