03 ram 2500 cummins

Asked by Dp528 Nov 08, 2016 at 03:44 PM about the 2003 Dodge RAM 2500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was going to school yesterday and my cummins
shut down going down the road. My engine light
came on and my fuel liight came on along with the
fuel gauge falling. I came to a stop and After a few
minutes of trying to crank it everything went back to
normal but it gave me the code P2509. Every since
it will run for a few minutes then do the same exact
thing. It's not like it spits and sputters when it dies,
it just dies with no hesitation. My fuel pump is in the
fuel tank and also when I turn the key over you can
here the pump under the hood turn on along with
the pump in the fuel tank but when the truck is NOT
working right, the pump under the hood does not
turn on. Any suggestions? Sorry it's so long
