Left rear brake, turn and backup lamps dim

Asked by Mark L. Feb 02, 2017 at 11:37 PM about the 1998 Dodge RAM 2500 ST Quad Cab LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On my 1998 Dodge Ram 2500, the left side brake and turn lamps flash, and marker and backup lamp illuminate dimly, whether headlamps are turned on or off.  When left turn lamps flashes, both left and right backup lamps flash alternately to left turn lamps.  Dash turn indicator lamp and relay flash/click more rapidly than right side.   Front left and all right side (front and rear) lamps function properly.    The wiring for in bed (3rd party) and bumper mount OEM 7-pin RV trailer connectors have all been checked for corrosion and functionality, all trailer lamps/brake circuits function properly from both connectors.

I have replace all lamps on left side, flasher and turn signal circuit relays, and checked grounds and wiring front to rear, and cannot find opens or shorts ...  and am at a loss as to what else to check.     Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

On that does the left side have individual connectors for both bulbs or is it a single connector going to a circuit board? If it's a single connector it's most likely a bad board. Otherwise did they look at the plugs itself? Could have melted so it back feeding through the system.
