How hot should brake rotors Get?

Brake rotors will get REAL hot depending on how hard they are used- they will take the heat but will lose effectiveness if they are used too hard (like going down a mountain pass with a trailer behind your truck)- if you watch Formula One cars, the rotors actually start glowing red- that's why they use expensive ceramic rotors- if you are using your brakes hard it is good to have ventilated rotors- things can be done to help them run cooler-
