Replaced battery and check guages light comes on

Asked by BigDaddy2006 Apr 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM about the 2006 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie Mega Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery died and when I jumped it off I reversed the cables. I replaced all the fuses (triple checked to make sure they were the right size) and the battery. Everything is working fine except the check gauges light comes on. Any ideas?

Here's the problem ... electricity moves at the speed of light ,, but ,, it takes a fuse a few milliseconds to burn so you may have creamed something very discrete .. I'm assuming you are saying "check engine light" instead of "check gauges light" /// I'm also assuming the truck runs .... Have AutoZone or some good auto place check the code that's causing the light to come on
