2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Won't Start

Ran fine all day than went to run an errand and when you turn the key it won't start and there is a clicking sound under the hood. Inside lights and electronics go haywire along with the instrument panel levers are going back and forth real fast.  Anyone had this problem?  Need a solution as I need my truck. Thank you!

Just an update: I just disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes and than reconnected it. It still won't start.

buying a ford is gonna be your best solution haha! have you replaced the starter? maybe theres a bad wire connection somewhere?

No, we don't buy ford in this family. My husband refuses. Sorry. =) Charged the battery at AutoZone and it seems to be fine. Going to actually take the truck there today and have them hook it up to their machine to test it. May just buy a new battery for it. Seems the one I have seems to not hold a charge.

the battery life for these vehicles is 3-4 years max. probably just need a new one.
