I have a 2005 Ram 1500 ST. Putting a cb radio. Will have to floor mount with self tapping screws. Is the floor thick enough to use screws WITHOUT them going all the way through to the outside?

No, the floor is not thick at all. It's about as thick as a cereal box. Look underneath to see if you would be making holes in any of the brake lines, fuel lines or electrical cables before preceding.

No the floor is not thick enough, but there are certain areas that are covered by chassis where your screws might not be visible from below and remain hidden, but once you take off your CB in future you will end up seeing these holes.

You could use the 'hook' part of velcro and that should grip the rug with no holes.

I'll keep that in mind. Never thought of it. Thanks. Also found a mount I'm thinking about. Here it is anyone else is looking an alternative. It sits on the carpet and has teeth that are supposed to stabilize it. It comes in two halves so it will fit any size cb: JB-PJBC-1000 Hump Mount Thanks again!

I have a Uniden Grant CB and how I did it was take couple pieces of 2x4. Put one flat on floor and see how it 'Wedges" Under the middle of the seats between seat frame and transmission tunnel. If it wedges in snuggly like mine did then take it out and nail or screw a vertical piece of 2x4 that comes up to just below the top of the seat. Screw your CB Bracket to that 2x4 and mount your radio Faceplate towards the roof. Coaxial cable and power cords just above the floor.
