My 2005 Dodge Ram 4.7 is having trouble starting, it usually takes 3 attemps until it turns over. I suspected that it may be the check valve on the sending unit but I can find the part in online autopart stores which leads me to believe that it doesn't have one. Could it possibly be the fuel pump?

I know that one. It's your starter! It's missing some teeth that makes it turn over and it takes 3 trys to catch it to make it crank.
