4.7l v8 2003 ram 1500

Asked by Mbrenn99 Nov 01, 2017 at 02:06 AM about the 2003 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2003 ram 1500 with the 4.7 v8 on
Saturday 10/28/17.  When I drive, which I don't
beat on it, it has a rattling noise. My initial thought
was that it was an exhaust leak because when
O'Rielys pulled up codes it had to do with
emissions. Could it be an exhaust leak or does it
have to do with the lifters? This is a completely
bone stock truck, from what I know. Any help will
do, thanks.

Man. I have 2003 4.7 I just got from my dad who had it new and it’s got 306,xxx miles on it. And it’s the loudest thing ever. Sounds likes it has an exhaust leak. But it is to this day the best truck. As long as they’ve been taken care of they last.
