You could try adjusting the band. or you could have a bad solenoid. could be other things also but those are two ideas.

My 2002 dodge ram 1500 won't shift gears in drive, only goes 30 mph. After parking it, now won't go into reverse. I changed the Transmission Pressure Sensor & Governor Pressure Solenoid, filter and fluid last month when it wouldn't go out of first gear.

WE NEED HELP! My Dodge 1500 4 wheel drive wont go in reverse also. I was stuck, so I started putting it forward and reverse multiple times, and then it did'nt go into reverse anymore. We are trying to find either the reverse sensor or linkage so we can fix my vehicle. Any answers will help!

This sounds like a broken reverse band. Run the live data scan on your scanner and see what the gear selector is reading in each gear, if the switch is not reading reverse when in reverse then there’s your problem. If you don’t have a live data scanner then take it to a good transmission shop so they can run stand alone tests on it. That will tell you what has happened and what it will take to fix. If the band is broke then you may want to beef up the overhaul.
