my transmission light comes on when I turn the key?

before the truck even starts the trans light comes on.  disconnected the cable
from the battery and everything seemed fine.  2 days later the light comes
back on. any ideas?

You'd have to find a scanner capable of reading transmission codes to see what is going on.
