.cud this be my ignition switch

I replaced the battery on my 2001 dodge ram 1500. the ignition turns over and it dings but no dash lights come on but does engage the battery and fuel on dash. when I try to start it it goes click one time and then totally dead. no nothing like you don't have a battry hooked up at all

check starter solenoid, and starter ,tap with hammer jar brushes a little
