Pretty vague question. It depends. If the engine is the same displacement, then the base engine will fit and you can just transfer the parts. If you are thinking about replacing it with a completely different engine (say the Charger has a 3.5LV6 and you want to put a V8 in the Charger) then you will have many problems. Starting at motor mounts, exhaust system, will it mate to the transmission, and then all the electronics. I would recommend locating a like engine for the replacement. Placing an engine that is 10 years older will also create other headaches. I wouldn't recommend it.
