I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 I disabled the battery to replace a hose. When I hooked the battery back up the dome lights are on all the time but very dim and I can't get them off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I did some work on my engine and when I replaced the battery the alarm kept
going off so I disconnected the fuses for the alarm module. Now the dome
light are on very dim but all the time and I can't get them off? Yes, there off at
the knob and the doors are shut

You need to have the alarm reflashed, you lost the memory when you removed the battery and only the dealership can do this

Comet guy might be right about this, but you can also try reconnecting the battery, manual lock all the doors from inside except the drivers door, with key in hand close and lock the drivers door with the key wait for everything to shut down, then wait at least another minute, then again with the key manually unlock the drivers door, if it is going to work that should reset the security system, if the alarm still sounds and the light stay on then the system will have to be reset at the dealer, unless this is an aftermarket security system, then if it is I recommend having it removed and the wiring put back to factory.

roll down driver's window, put key in ignition, close and lock all doors, disconnect negative battery terminal, reach in window and turn and leave key to "on" position, ("on" position, not "start" position), reconnect negative battery terminal with key still in "on" position. This worked for me.
