Dodge Ram 1500 just suddenly dies

One code came up speed control
sensor in the distributor changed it still
just dies

Not sure what code came up. But if the throttle position sensor goes bad the vehicle will just die for no apparent reason. It did that on my truck. Replaced that and it has worked fine ever since. One quick way to check if it is that part is to get out on the highway and get up to speed. if the TPS is bad your cruise control will not engage. Hope that helps. BTW the part cost me 21 dollars and is easily changed. Just two torx screws hold it to the throttle body. Good Luck.
