Dodge Ram Won’t Start

Asked by Tommy Dec 03, 2017 at 03:26 AM about the 2000 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Club Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Went to start my truck that starts the second time every
time, went through my normal first crank, then second.
The second is when it fully turns over, however something
happened this time and all my lights started flashing as if I
set off the alarm (I don’t think my truck has an alarm) they
flashed for approx 30 seconds and shutoff. Now every
time I go to turn the key I get nothing. Just flashing of all
the lights for 30 seconds and that’s it. This is on a 2000
Dodge Ram 1500.

Disconnect the negative battery lead from the battery, short it to the positive battery lead for 20-30 seconds or let 'er sit for about 20-30 minutes. This will allow the ECM capacitors to fully discharge and the ECM will go back to it's default factory mode. Reconnect the negative lead, fire 'er up n see what happens.
