Fixed the ground wire to my rear wiper in my 2001 Chevy Suburban LT and now all my gauges are going off or not working properly, including the gas gauge. My whole dash is going crazy and also won't run right. Can someone help? Never thought fixing one ground wire would do so much.

Disconnect the repaired wire, does it fix the problem? Check the wire at the wiper motor, is it showing positive or negative feed?

We disconnected the wire and it does nothing. The gauges are still going off like crazy. Only ones not affected is the amp/voltage gauge and the oil pressure gauge. I just can't figure out if grounding that wire made some blow in another module or what.

Also temperature gauge is fine also. But ABS, check engine, brake light, alternator light, security, gas reads empty, service 4wheel drive, airbag light, parking brake light, and more are the ones reading wrong.

Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal and letting it sit unplugged for a little while. may be a long shot but can't hurt!!!

Did the disconnect to the battery also and has no effect. Left it off for an hour or more. No changes. Does anyone know how many ground wires there are to the rear wiper ? We thought just one but now I'm told by a mechanic there are 2. The one we did was on the back passenger side. Now I'm told there's one that goes up along the roof of the suburban. Is this true?
