How do I program the built in garage door opener in my 2001 chevy suburban 1500

on mine you have to hold the button on the truck for the door you want for 5 or 10 seconds, then put the opener by the button and push the button on the opener without letting up on the one on the truck, hold for a few seconds then it should work.
