Question type: Maintenance & Repair

have a good 97 46re with vss in tailhousing. will it fit in place of a 99 1500 46re without vss in tail. 1999 ram 1500 2wd,5.2l

1 Answer

vss is variable speed sensor mounted in tailshaft.this is 97 transmission. it has 4 electrical plugs. the 99 46re has 3 plugs that are identical, minus the vss plug.should"nt the 99 be able to do what it"s supposed to do with the 3 plugs since the 99 trans has 3 identical plugs
