I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 4x4 and my
tranny seized up now i only have reverse
and barely drive is there anyother year i
can use for the tranny

It would help to know which transmission is in the truck Chrysler used a few. but the most common (if you have the 5.2 liter engine) was the A500 (40RH/42RH/40RE/42RE/44RE) family of transmissions. you could use one from 1994 to 2001.

I HAVE A 5.9 42RE AND WAS TOLD I COULDNT USE ANY OTHER YEAR. BUT ALSO WAS TOLD THAT IT MIGHT JUST BE THE TORQUE CONVERTER

Only reverse and barely drive sounds like a forward clutch pack failure. It could be other things but the converter wont cause this issue. the 42RE will work from 1998 to 2002. Those are direct interchange.

    We have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.2. Tranny was working fine 2 days ago, yesterday it wouldn't shift in to OD. The OD on/off light in dash works when you push button. Any help??
