will an engine wiring harness from a 1997 ram 1500 work in a 1998 Ram 1500? Vin #'s 1-8 match. 10th digit V and W. Both 5.9 4X4 extended cab.

Fuel rail crossover burst/eaten by mice/wear and tear
causing engine fire but mainly causing engine harness to be
burned before able to get fire out.

All, I checked with parts department at local dealer and he looked it up. The wiring harness will not work.
