I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500.  My transmission
went out.  What other year trucks could be
compatible with this year truck?

I just have to say; save your money on a used transmission. Research and find a rebuilt one from a reputable builder. If you buy a 20 year old used transmission, you are not doing yourself any favors. Chances are it will not last very long....
