Idles low in water or snow

Asked by Tony Aug 22, 2016 at 03:15 AM about the 1997 Dodge RAM 1500 LT LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my 97 5.2l will die when I go through a
water puddle or if there is snow on the road
but if I catch it soon enough I can put it in
neutral I can rev it to about 5000 rpm then
back to drive it runs fine. Would my
distributor cap be getting moisture in it?

No battery stays right away at first I thought it was water getting in the air cleaner but after I got the snorkel kit still does it
