will a 1997 wiring harness work on a 2002? both are 4x4 1 had a 4.7 the other had 5.2

Yes you'll have to change the injector plugs, the pickup coil plug, and the transmission plugs. The wire color code is the same . Make sure to suder your splices and use shrink wrap to insulate.

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 I want to put the motor in a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 is the wiring different on the motor???
