Transmission problems

Ok who can answer this i took a
tranny out of a 01 dodge ram
1500 and put it in a 96 everything
fit right went for a drive and it
shifted good except it wouldnt
shift into overdrive so i asked
around and came up with the
solenoids and sensors were the
erong one for that year modal they
said to change out the wireing
harness so i did and it started
shiftin into overdrive no problem
but now its slipping thats my
question is why it started slipping
when it wasnt before i changed
wireing harness?
