Truck cutting out badly while driving the further you get past half a tank of fuel towards empty it gets worse

When it gets low on fuel, remove the gas cap n see if the problem goes away. Yes, you'll get a check engine light, you've prolly got one now, but don't worry about it. If my guess is right, your evap system is running constantly n pulling a vacuum on your gas tank. As the fuel levels get lower, it draws a higher vacuum eventually a vacuum hi enough to equal the pull of the fuel pump n pressure at the injectors is no bueno!
