I could really use some guidance. Last year I sold
my 1996 Dodge 1500 to a buddy... He turned out to
not be a very good buddy. I recently repo'd my truck
after he made on payment of $400 then quit. The
truck has 180,000 on it. He put 16,000 on. When I
got the truck back, it has a random misfire. I
changed it the cap and rotor, wires and plugs and it
is still misfiring. The compression is anywhere
from 90-120. Any ideas on where to check next?
Also, the check engine light is on (of course) and
under load it blinks. Is that an indication of any
certain ailment? Thanks in advance for any and all
help.

Thank you Jim. It really stinks.... I take care of my vehicles, everything was maintained until he got ahold of it. I really didn't want to sell my truck, I was financially strapped after a poor "relationship" decision. I made my decision based on being able to pay for instable debt that was left in my lap. That only got me further in the hole and minus my truck. I still don't want to sell my truck... Again. But maybe you're right. I was really hoping that I could resolve the problem. Thank you again.
