Question type: Maintenance & Repair

the truck quit running on my way back from the airport thought it was the fuel pump so i replaced it. i also drained the gas out and put new gas in since at the time it wsa running really rough and would barely get above 25 with the pedal floored if it didnt stall. replaced the spark plugs and got it to start but then died right after i put it in drive. checked the plugs to make sure thay were gapped right and found oil on all of them?

Hi sim! I'm going to guess timing belt first. The oil on the plugs is probably more symptom than cause, but it doesn't indicate anything particularly good. It's pretty obvious however that you need to get this vehicle in the hands of a professional who can lay hands on it. And you should do it right away. Good luck!

dont know bout the oil thing but i got an 04 with the hemi warhorse under the hood that was doing same thing. changed egr valve still did it but they say there is no fuel filter. ha. trace lines from fuel tank to that cannister bout where the drivers door is under truck and on top of that there looks to be an item that looks a lot like a fuel filter. changing mine tomorrow as my truck died 50 miles from home and acts fuel starved. pump can be heard working. if filter change fails then will go to the pump
