Turn Signal/Brake Light Problem

Asked by My Feb 06, 2019 at 11:26 AM about the 1995 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie SLT LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My left rear brake light and turn signal do not work. The taillight works fine, and
it's the same bulb as the turn signal and brake light. All other turn signals work
fine, so it's not the flasher or fuse. Can't I just wire the two left-side turn signals
directly together (front and back)? And wire the two rear brake lights directly
together?

Before you do any rewiring, check for corrosion in the bulb socket and proper wire connections. And also make sure there's 3 strands of coils in the bulb.

Hi, I'm having kinda the same problem. I have a 1995 Dodge ram 1500 and I had hooked a trailer to my truck. On the trailer the right blinkers worked the left blinker n brakes did not. Now since I've taking the trailer off my left blinker does not work. I've changed bulbs checked the wires around where the trailer hooks up and didn't see anything. My fuses keeps blowing and melting. And here n there I can get my blinker to work if I continue moving my blinker switch. But only a couple times does that work. Then the fuse.blows. also it's started to mess with my right blinker to. Can any one tell me what's wrong or what wires to check????? Desperately need help.

I am having same issue after hauling a trailer in my 1999 3500 Cummins. I have traced everything and even have power to the plug until you plug it in to tail light and then it loses all power when the circuit is completed. I the went to the multifunction switch and the hazard lights do not work since hauling the trailer in a parade. If you turn them on no turn signals or brake lights work. Turn the hazard back off and the right side works like normal. I have ordered at multifunction switch since the problem seems to be tied to it. I will left you know. BTW, Amazon has them for $45 when parts house wanted $100.
