S10 project

Asked by Ryan Jul 12, 2017 at 10:20 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet S-10 LS ZR2 Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 03 s10 zr2. It has the stock 4.3l
vortec. I have a Chevy 350 to put in. I do a
lot of off roading and want to keep the
4wd. Can I use the stock trans and if not
what one do I need. I would like to keep
automatic. I need an idea on everything I
will need for this project.

The easiest way to do this swap is to get a 5.7 vortec to swap in, you'll use the same fuel pressures and lines. And if you get the right year it's harness and pcm will plug into the rest of your harness. If you plan on running a carbed 350 the you'll need to buY the adapter to put a tps on your carb so it can run the trans. Either way it's doable, you will need a special oil pan for the v8 to clear the 4x4 components. You should find it readily available.
