Oil leaking from driver side no oil registering on dipstick?

Oil pressure has been sitting little less than
40. The space where drivers front tire is at
is completely covered and dripping with
oil.

Even if it's tight, you might have some old gasket materiel on the mating surface preventing the filter from sealing properly.
