How do i fix my s1o from leaking gas

My s10 leaks gas out of what they say is a purge canister i think not sure its a black box that the fuel line runs to an it has a sensor on it when i crank the truck up it pours out gas an wont stop how do i fix it

That canister is for vapor only .It should never have fuel coming from it. Is the check engine light on ? If so scan the OBD 2 for any stored codes.
