What's wrong

Asked by Hbonetbone Feb 03, 2017 at 01:38 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 Chevy cavalier
wouldn't start like the
battery had gone dead. I
jumped it and got it
home. Then had to jump
it the next day to get the
battery tested at
Walmart. They told me
they couldn't say the
battery was bad but I
had a new battery now &
it still won't start. What's
wrong with it?

If you replaced the battery and still having issues of the car having to be jumped, you either have a bad alternator or you could have an electrical draw in the system (ex: aftermarket radio, car alarm ) that is draining the battery.

Or even just bad battery cables or terminal ends. If you get it started take it to a shop or auto parts store and have the charging system tested.
