DRL on S10 pickup 1999

Asked by dhg666 Nov 10, 2015 at 05:35 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet S-10 LS Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We see using google articles on how to disable the day time running lights.
We have encountered nearly the opposite. We never moved the switch
from the DRL setting on the dash. We left it there to make it easy to know
we have lights day and night without having to remember to flip switches.
Everything worked fine until we needed to replace the battery. Now with the
new batter we have no lights when the switch is in the DRL setting which is
pointing left on the switch. Is there some cycle that has been broken when
the battery was replaced? All fuses and bulbs are good. So, whereas some
people want to disable theirs we need to get ours back on.
