IS THE FUEL FILTER FOR A 1998 CHEVY S10 TRUCK IN THE GAS TANK OR NOT? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE THE FILTER?

There is a strainer In the fuel tank on the bottom of the pump, but if it is clogged it would be best to replace the entire pump assembly if you have to go that deep into it, it will also have a standard GM fuel filter in the frame rail that will need repalced along with the fuel pump relay so the warranty won't be void cause they were not repalced at the same time as the pump assembly. Time is dependent on how much fuel is in the tank, but usually about 2 hours will do it.
