Why do my brake lights stay on all time. I brought a new brake switch but they still will not go off unless I pull the fuse. 1997 chevy s10 4x4
Did you check to see if the switch is depressed when the brake peddle is all the way back? If you replaced the switch, yet did not adjust it correctly, the lights will stay on. The switch when depressed cuts the electricity to the brake lights.

Does the brake arm touch the switch and push in the arm on the switch? How about the mounting brackets? Is this your switch?

Mine is the first switch yet is threaded all the way down not making good contact to turn it off how can I adjust the arm?
When the brake peddle is all the way up, not being touched, The break peddle arm should be making contact with the peddle, cutt9ng off the electrical connection. When you apply pressure on the peddle pushing the arm down, the switch should lose contact with the peddle and that then makes the connection. If the switch is not touching or needs to be adjusted closer to the peddle/arm to make contact, do it.
Brake lights came on last night and stayed on.
Check the switch adjustment on the brake peddle. It may be sticking also, so give it a shot of WD-40 or graphite spray. WD-40 may lose it up, but over time will attract and hold dust and close it up again. Use a spray that is used on guns as it will prevent gunk forming. Or it just may be the witch itself. WD-40 to clean it, gun spray to lube it. Good luck
GMMAN1958 did you ever figure out how to adjust the pedal i am having the same problem.
There is adjustment on the rod that goes to master from brake arm. You have to remove switch as the arm needs to be removed to twist the rod in or out.
