1996 Chevy S10 4.3 will not turn on at all

Asked by robd5487 Jul 02, 2019 at 12:27 AM about the 1996 Chevrolet S-10 LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was driving the truck and battery light came on, stereo (aftermarket) went off,
found alternator to be bad and battery died (tried to make it home). Replaced
alternator, charged battery. Attempted to start vehicle and nothing came on
(dash lights, dome lights, key in ignition chime, vehicle did not even crank at
all). thought maybe the battery went bad, use my jumper box to jump the
vehicle. Nothing happened... there's power going to alternator and starter and
maybe other areas... I'm out of ideas or possibilities, what makes it worse is
this vehicle use to be a city vehicle with additional wires, fuses and relays.
Please help

It's a confusing story. Why do you need to know there is power going to alternator when the car won't start.? That's not a component of the starting process. When motor is running, yes. Good luck
