If this is an automatic transmission, you will want to use Dexron III/Mercon fluid. If it is a manual, see my other answer to your question.

S 10 wont shift out of first .once in a while it will .but rpm.s just get higher .wont shift .not slippin just wont shift

I have a automatic Chevy 2000 s-10 I will go fine when I put it in 1st put it I go into 2nd it won’t do anything same for 3rd and when I put it in drive it will go to 10 mph and then go back down to nothing
