i own a 2001 model chevy blazer i was driving along and the engine check light came on

i was driving along and the engine check light came on, on the dash the car still drove ok and started ok after I turned it off I have checked all oils and water they are all at correct levels, I tried the battery thing and now it doesn't even want to start it will turn over but wont fire can you assist me at all?

My Blazer did the same thing. We thought it was the ignition, changed that out. Still did the same thing . Same year and model as yours. My husband is a mechanic and couldn't find the problem. Come to find out it was the starter. Had to get a brand new kit and replace. It has been starting ever since.
