Chevrolet Blazer shutting off

Asked by Wrenn Aug 15, 2018 at 09:15 AM about the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4-Door RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer that likes to shut off
on me while driving. Mostly while I’m idling. But I
am able to turn it back on, but then shutters and my
RPM’s drop as it tries to cut off again. I have done a
complete tune up, oil change, it’s filled with gas,
and it still wants to shut off. I have a 2 year old
battery, but I’m wondering if it is something more
than just a battery. I do have an oil leak, but the
shop I took it to said to just fill it with oil when
needed. It isn’t a fast leak. What could be wrong?

Kind of vast really. Cam/crank sensors..Mass air flow malfunction, fuel filter..fuel pressure regulator, could even be that your pump is just even going and working at a diminished rate. Have you had codes run at all?
