I have a 2002 chevy venture sputtering and bucking

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 chevy venture (100,000 miles) that has me baffled. It has been a great van
but it started about a month ago sputtering and bucking and numerous times UTIL it
warms up than runs fine the rest of the day.the engine light does NOT come on. It would
get the hiccoughs and start bucking like someone learning to drive a stick shift for the
first time.

Check air filter and clean throttle body with throttle body cleaner spray also replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while. Add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank then take out on road and hit the passing gear a few times this will help clean fuel injectors and remove any carbon build up. Be careful no speeding ticket.

Also; Check your EGR and clean if necessary. On Youtube you can see self tutorials on how to do this. Simple fix, but left unmaintained it can cause Cat failure. This often results in loss of power, bucking or jerking. Does your vehicle have a heavy unburned gas smell when these occurrences happen? Ray, Auto Right Sales
